Baby was due on Thursday and we were sure that would be the day. I cleaned house, prepped dinner for the kids in case I was gone, and waited. But the contractions stopped. The weekend came and went... nothing. Finally, on Monday night, I got a text that she was in active labor again. At 1:30 am Tuesday, I met them at the hospital.
The fun-fact of this story is that all along, mom and dad were sure baby was girl #4. They, along with three big sisters, prepared for "her." A dresser full of girl clothes, pink blankets, and a cute little dress outfit to come home in. But wouldn't you know it, God is a God of surprises!
So, we waited at the hospital while mom labored. And let me just say, she is a superwoman! So proud of her and impressed with how she handled birthing, completely natural.
And then at 4:50 am, baby arrived... and to the surprise of everyone in the room, it wasn't girl #4. It was a baby BOY! Weighing in at 9lb 3oz and 21.5 inches long. So exciting!
Needless to say, he didn't go home in the dress outfit. ;) His Papa made sure he had some Notre Dame apparel for his homecoming. Everyone is ecstatic about this surprise blessing, especially his middle sister who wanted a brother SO badly! I know baby A will be greatly loved! I'm deeply thankful to the C family for allowing me this amazing opportunity.
